Recipe: Healthy Protein Puppy Chow
In high school we used to make puppy chow and bring it to share with each other at lunch. This nostalgic treat has been calling my name recently. I wanted to make a healthy, blood sugar stabilizing version that didn't have any of that fake taste. We use Preme Hot Cocoa with the option to use our unflavored gentle prebiotic fiber.
Since certain cereals have bad reps and questionable ingredients, we recommend using an organic or sprouted brown rice cereal - this will provide added prebiotic fiber.
Ingredients:
- 6 cups of One Degree Brown Rice Cereal
- 1/2 cups of Peanut Butter
- 1 1/2 cups of Allullose Powdered Sugar
- 1 cup of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips or a Chocolate Hazelnut Spread
- 1/4 cup of Butter or Coconut Oil
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- Flaky Sea Salt
- 1 scoop Grass-Fed Collagen
- 1 scoop Preme Hot Cocoa
- 1 tablespoon Preme Gentle Prebiotic Fiber
Directions:
- Mix Peanut Butter, Chocolate and Butter or Oil into a container and heat until melted
- Mix in Vanilla, Sea Salt, Collagen, Hot Cocoa and Gentle Prebiotics
- When all mixed together, pour this liquid mixture over your brown rice cereal
- Gently mix all together before adding in your Powdered Sugar
- Cover or put into a zip lock bag and enjoy by itself or with your favorite milk.
Share with friends, give to your kids, bring this to your next holiday gathering or keep on hand to support your gut health throughout innate cravings. Rich in magnesium, prebiotic fiber and protein with little to no sugar, this treat will leave zero regrets.
